I came to Novela Bugis on 10 May 2024 to buy a Mother's Day present. I had no idea what to get. Luckily, I met this salesgirl named Pan Ying who explained to me all about ladies' products and even helped recommend what to buy. I was really impressed by her knowledge, understanding, and patience. I will recommend my family to come and buy more. ✅👍👍

I would like to give a good compliment to the staff named Josep (located at Bugis Plus). He is patient and consistent, and he helped me search for my favorite parfum within my budget. Upon entering the shop, he was very patient in serving me even though I was indecisive and perhaps lost, throughout my search for the parfum. He was always there for me and lent an ear to address my doubts. Finally, I was able to find my favorite parfum (for my friend's birthday) within my budget. I am truly grateful to Novela for having this nice staff who showed such good personality and performance. I hope the company will give a compliment to the staff as he is worth praising. Good job, Staff Josep. I will be back again in September to purchase another parfum for my friend. I had a great day here. Cheers!

Worst experience ever in this Novela branch. On 3 August 2025, I walked into the shop and was looking for promotional items. I was holding the item that I wanted to buy, as there was a good deal offered today. Suddenly, a female promoter walked over and gave me a basket. I told her that I didn't need the basket, but she replied that it was better to put the item into the basket as she said I might drop the item. Okay, fine, it felt as though she thought I couldn't afford the item. I went one more round to find any other good deals around since I already had the basket. A male promoter accidentally promoted a 299 SGD item, as both of us thought that item only cost 189 SGD. I only realized that the item was actually 299 SGD during checkout, and this would be the first time I canceled checkout items and reselected another product option. At that moment, I knew that the male promoter must have been a new guy and served the wrong item to me, so I thought it was fine, and I took back the original item I was going to buy and queued to checkout. Suddenly, the female promoter took the 189 SGD item and pointed out to me that this would be the right item. I felt speechless as I no longer planned to buy the item, as the cheaper one was the old tech product. I just informed her that I already knew about it and thanked her for showing me the item that I already knew. During checkout, I tried to ask the female promoter if it was okay to use the Capital app for payment, so I had topped up and planned to pay using the app. However, the Capital Star app was lagging and showed that I hadn't topped up the money. At that moment, I felt that the female promoter was a bit rude and just kept rushing me to select one of the payment methods. I told her that I had topped up the Capital Star app, but she did not provide any help to solve the issue, just rushing me to select the payment. I was disappointed at that moment and told her that just tapping my card would do. My money was now stuck inside, and I needed to spend it on another product, as the money would expire in November. I just hoped I would remember to spend the money, or it would simply be lost after expiring. I went back and showed the promoter that the money had actually topped up in the app, but she just told me that the payment could not be changed. As far as I know, a credit card machine is actually able to void a payment, resubmit it, and rework the transaction. I felt that she might think what I wanted her to do was just wasting her time, as my amount was just around 172 SGD. While I was queuing for payment, I saw she was happy to serve those who bought items with a big amount. I felt a different treatment was being applied to their customers. I will no longer visit this branch after this incident.
